If you are planning a Christmas production you could record the music and sell it to parents or you could video your Christmas production, record it to DVD and have it duplicated by the ICT team. CC4G (Computer Club for Girls)
CC4G have indicated that if enough teachers/potential facilitators were interested in attending a training session locally (at Cricket Road) they would come to Oxfordshire to deliver training. If you are interested (some secondary colleagues have already indicated that they would like to attend) please email barbara.hitchcox@oxfordshire.gov.uk
Strategic Leadership of ICT (SLICT)
You may be aware that the SLICT programme is coming to an end in 2008 with the final programmes running in mid-March. In Oxfordshire only 39% of primary schools and 15% of secondary schools have participated. The scheme is heavily subsidised with 80% of the cost already covered making the primary contribution only £350. A major change for the final year is that the programme is being opened up to assistant and deputy heads as well as head teachers. If your headteacher and/or SMT have not taken part in the programme please encourage them to take advantage of this final opportunity. The programme consistently gains rave reviews from those who attend. Details of how to register can be found at http://www.ncsl.org.uk/slict

Espresso News
Handwriting for Foundation and KS1
This resource contains a collection of 26 videos which focus on the formation of lower case letters. In each video children are introduced to the formation of an individual letter, the letter name and letter sound. The formation of the letter is modelled while an audio commentary offers a verbal consolidation of the visual model. The sequence is repeated twice and ends with pictures and words offering opportunities for discussion linked to word level objectives.
Links on each video page to the rest of the alphabet are designed to help teachers move swiftly between letters formed in similar ways. If you have an interactive whiteboard in class, you could also use "whiteboard writing sheet" we've provided for children to practise forming the letters alongside the videos.
