The closing date for this competition is this Friday (8th December). We look
forward to receiving your entries! Please remember to put the school name clearly
on the CD. Should you want to see last year's entries, please go to:

Audio Network Ideas
Don't forget that Oxfordshire Schools have access to 3,587 high quality MP3 audio music files that can be used to enhance pupils' work and teachers' lessons. Full details of the license can be found at: http://www.ict.oxon-lea.gov.uk/audio/ Website: http://audio.lgfl.org.uk/
Idea of the Week: Costa Del Sol 2 combines swirling synthesizer rhythms with traditional Spanish guitars. It has a very Spanish feel to the music and could be used as inspiration for writing. Where are you? How did you get there? How does the place make you feel? Click here to take you to the music page.
Digital Video Library
The Digital Video Library, which provides hundreds of short video clips for PowerPoint, Interactive Whiteboards and Video Editing software are offering free access to their clips until December 25th 2006. All you have to do to access them is register online, then send an email to FREE@dvlibrary.org.uk They will need 24 hours to process your request. http://www.dvlibrary.org.uk
ICT Technicians
This is the last week for ICT Technicians to complete the online survey in Digitalbrain about working condition. We have had some responses but it would be good if as many colleagues as possible providing ICT support in schools could find the time to complete the survey.
Colleagues can access the poll by logging into Digitalbrain and then accessing the following URL: http://cricket-road.oxon.digitalbrain.com/oxon/schools/cricket road/web/Polls/Poll%20Front%20Pages/ICT%20Technicians%27%20Poll/
Alternatively, log into Digitalbrain and select the Oxfordshire Home tab from the top of the screen. Then, from the panel in the middle at the bottom of the screen click the link to the Cricket Road School portal. There is a link to the ICT Technicians' Poll from the homepage of the Cricket Road School portal.
If any technician cannot access the poll please e-mail greg.stragnell@oxfordshire.gov.uk and include your OCN username so that you can be added to the list of those able to answer the poll.
PRIMARY
Foundation Stage Christmas Card Winners:
Children in the Foundation Stage were invited once again to take part in a Christmas card competition. We were extremely pleased with the level of entries, which made judging them difficult. The winner and runners up of the competition will not only have their cards showcased on the ICT website, but they will also receive half a dozen of their printed Christmas cards to send to friends and family. The lucky winner has won a digital Talking Photograph Album for their school. Thank you to all those children who entered. Congratulations to our winners.

Video Conferencing
The Natural History Museum (NHM) in London is able to offer primary schools the opportunity to join a weekly video conferencing session for free on a Wednesday morning at 10.30. The sessions usually last around half an hour and cover a range of themes. For further details about what the NHM has to offer, you can contact Sarah Hone on 02079426052 or email s.hone@nhm.ac.uk. Schools will need to register and book with the JANET Videoconferencing Service (JVCS) before you are able to access the videoconference. For further information about JVCS go to http://www.jvcs.video.ja.net/
If you would like to discuss any of the Video Conferencing information mentioned above you can contact Anna Foreman, ICT Team, Cricket Road 01865 428034 or anna.foreman@oxfordshire.gov.uk
