REMINDER: There are two AppleMac computers available (one PC and one i-book), to loan out to schools for two/three week periods. Just a reminder that Oxfordshire Schools have access to 3,587 high quality MP3 audio music files that can be used to enhance pupils' work and teachers' lessons. Full details of the license can be found at: http://www.ict.oxon-lea.gov.uk/audio/ Website: http://audio.lgfl.org.uk/
Idea of the Week: Sleigh ride could be used for background music to a range of Christmas projects e.g. backing to a PowerPoint presentation that retells the Christmas story. It could also be used as a stimulus for a Christmas art scene. http://audio.lgfl.org.uk/track_details.asp?type=4&trackid=2512&l1=&l2=&l3=&l1c=&l2c=&l3c

PRIMARY
QXS Microscope Deal
Dabs are selling the QXS Microscope at £72.83 including VAT. Please go to the link below for further information.
Espresso
During Term 6 Espresso were able to offer a specially negotiated rate for Oxfordshire schools. Although this agreement was originally negotiated to run for term 6 only, an extension to this deal is now available to schools that order by the end of term 2. So if you were considering it in the summer but just missed the boat, you now have a further opportunity to buy at the special price of £6 a pupil. Further details of this are available in the OCN ICT Curriculum area conference.
SECONDARY
DiDA Delivered
The NWGfL, who released the resources in 'DiDA delivered' have begun to release resources for the OCR National Certificate in ICT. They can be found at: http://www.ncit-delivered.org
It seems likely that some of the later materials will be charged but released under open source license allowing schools to modify the content.
GCSE OCR B
The consultants attended an inset session presented by Steven Cushing in which
he emphasised that teachers should not be afraid to award full marks for coursework
where they felt it was deserved.
Best wishes,
